Church demolished by GHMC officials as part of town planning in Moosarambagh, Hyderabad.

Demolishing the Church Building by GHMC Officials on Friday 17th June, in Dader Basti of Moosarambagh in Hyderabad, drew much flak from several Christian Organisations.

Hosea Prayer House, a church that was ministering to Christians in Moosarambagh and Malakpet areas has been demolished as part of town planning without any prior notice by GHMC. Condemning the incident Telangana Christian Council’s general secretary C. Francis, All India Christian Federation State secretary Mr. Dayanand, the National Congress of Indian Christian Chairman C.A Daniel Adams, Bishop Singam, Jacob Raj,  Elisha Lakshman, Ram Babu and Church Pastor Jaypaul along with members staged a protest by blocking roads and demanding an action against the officials as per IPC 295-A, 298-B.

“The Church had been functioning for nearly two decades and there was absolutely no reason to demolish it.  It never caused any hindrance to anybody and everything related to the church was perfect,” said Jaypaul, pastor of the church.

Speaking to the media, Jerusalem Mattaiah, General Secretary of All India Dalit Christian society. slammed the government and demanded that the Minister should resign and the Church must be reconstructed.

Cognizance of the incident, GHMC standing Committee member and Corporator Teegala Sunitha Reddy rushed to the spot and spoke to the church leaders and members. She assured the crowd that she will take the matter to GHMC commissioner and higher officials.
