Religious Harmony Gesture – Christian Priests Attend Ganesh Festival on Invitation

Christian Priests and nuns, in Mangalore visited attended Ganesh festival at Sanghaniketan, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). This is a great indication of Communal Harmony.

The priests of Infant Jesus Shrine of Bikarnakatte and the nuns of Kulshekar Sacred Heart Convent visited Sanghaniketan on September 6 to attend the Ganesh festival, 3 days after the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) invited them. The initiative was for the creation of unity and harmony between the two communities.

As many as 10 members came and attended the the Ganesh festival. Deputy Director of Infant Jesus Church Prakash D’Cunha, Sister Florita from Santa Cruz Convent in Kulashekar, Sister C Simpla, Sister Gladias and D’souza were among those who visited the place, reported The Hindu.

“It was a great and Harmonious environment where communities take part in each other festivities”, RSS Zonal Convenor V.Nagaraj said. Inviting Christian nuns and the priests for the event was a step in that direction, he said.
